Corning Ware French White F-5-B

RARE & HARD TO FIND * SMOOTH BOTTOM * ALL PYROCERAM GLASS * MADE IN USA. Vintage Original Corning Ware French White F-5-B 1.6 LITER 8” inch SOUFFLE DISH Baking Casserole has the smooth bottom and is made of the original Corning Ware Pyroceram Glass and Made in USA (this is not the current made French White II ceramic stoneware & glass composition which is not as durable). The vintage smooth bottom all Pyroceram Glass Corning Ware French White bakeware items are becoming increasingly difficult to find...especially in excellent condition. The vintage Corning Ware French White pattern 8” inch SOUFFLE DISH measures appx. 7 ¾” inches across in diameter outside rim to outside rim by 3 1/8" inches high (tall). Weight of this SOUFFLE DISH dish is appx. 1 pound, 8 ounce with no glass lid/cover, no box or packing materials. With the matching Pyrex glass lid the F-5-B casserole dish will weigh 2 pounds 11 ounces. Bottom of the dish can be "Ink Block Stamped" and reads: CORNING WARE, F-5-B 1.6 LITER, FOR OVEN AND MICROWAVE, CORNING, N.Y., U.S.A, and the factory / production date number sequence such as 111181 (mfg. date is 1981 by the stamp). The other bottom stamp on the Vintage Pyroceram French White dishes can be the raised braille like stamp which is called the "EMBOSSED STAMP" and those were produced from 1985-1999 and it will be stamped CORNING or CORNING FRENCH WHITE then F-5-B 1.6 LITER etc. The "Ink Block Stamp" only appeared from 1978 to appx. 1985/86, the raised "Embossed Stamp" was produced from 1985-2001 – stamping depending on the manufacturing plant where it was made at the time. Both stamps are considered a Highly Collectible Vintage Corning Ware item for the Avid Corning Ware Collector as they are made of the original all Pyroceram Glass and were Made in the USA, not the newer Corning Ware French White II "Stoneware" version that is currently produced & being made in CHINA
