Acceptance: A Hero's Journey through Parkinson's and a PhD Kindle Edition

There comes a time in your life where you either listen to the voices in your head or go crazy trying to deny them. You know the ones: this is what you're supposed to be doing... Listening and following your bliss is acceptance. It's more than possible to put meaning into one's life - it's a calling.I did not plan on going back for a PhD at 49 years old to study and create programs for those affected by Parkinson's disease. I was supposed to be settled in other work, roles and life responsibilities. Supposed to be... But as I kept putting myself out there, this call to adventure kept reaching back to me. Engaging in it fully was fraught with pain, fear and all types of monsters. There were many times It thought I'd be swallowed whole or left for dead.Looking back, this journey was impossible.
